Default Help with hard lines

Can someone guide me to making a hard lined setup for my kit? I've messed around with them a little, but my bends look like crap. Anything close to 90* and it kinks. What are the tricks? Dave, don't keep this your little secret....share the knowledge.

There are other things that you can use to bend the tubing other than a tubing bender to make tight bends...............

The key to bending a nice tube is the harline you are using and the tools you are doing it with.

What tubing bender and flare tool are you using?

Achieving a tite 90 degree bend with a tubing bender is sometimes not possible. Sometime rolling the tubing in your hand or being creative with other objects is needed.

I'm using the Summit special stuff. Any suggestions on some better, yet somewhat economical tools?

To be honest with you I have so many different benders and flare tools and I use them all.

I use this flare tool quite often.

I use both these benders.. I use the NOS one for tighter bends.

I tried doing my own when I wanted to go from Blue to Black fittings, I bought the Summit tubing stuff as well and practiced with brake lines...

I gave up and took it back to 860, LOL was way easier that way.

I am almost to that point, but up here in Alaska there aren't any shops to take it to. I don't know why, but I want to learn to do it myself.

What kind of tubing do you guys suggest? Thickness etc. I'm an aircraft mech so I am used to dealing with aluminum on a very limited basis. This stainless stuff is a whole different animal.

I remember Dave sending me out some lines and fittings so that I could hardline my set-up. Well long story short everything went in the trash.. The tubing he sent me was like
trying to bend rebar and I broke 2 flare tools in the process..
So for now we just stick to with leaky black soft lines

You need a sleeve as well to get the proper seal.

Daniel,
Keep in mind that the flare needs to be a nice flare or it will leak.. You need a nice 37 degree flare tool.
