Default tubing size matter?

HI I am thinking about setting up with hard lines. I work in a plant where we use tubing to feed all our instrumentation and controlers. Out there we use 1/4 and 1/2 inch tubing. I see that the tubing and tools on Nitrous Outlet are 1/8 and 3/16. Can I go with 1/4 inch lines on my setup and what troubles could I run into?

For all the -4 connections you could use the 1/4in tubing but that all you would be able to use it for as the nozzle or plate uses a -3 connection which uses the 3/16 tubing.
